I attended the Friday evening performance of Bill W and Dr. Bob. Friends who had seen it already had raved about the authenticity of the story and I had read Micheal Eck's excellent review. This was a must-see play if you like history and if you have had any personal experience with alcoholism. Actors White and Foster did a splendid job portraying the grip alcoholism can have on one's life, and the collateral damages it also has on family. Alcoholism is a disease that effects everyone, and this was brilliantly portrayed by the male actors portraying alcoholics looking for self-help and talk-therapy to save them, and for thier wives, who were equally as affected by the shame, stigma, anger and resentment of living with, and covering up, the effects alcholism has on family life. The theater was sold out the night I attended, and people were waiting in line a full hour before show time, a sure sign of a great artistic production.

Dear Carol & Company,

What a magical evening of theater! Last night's performance of Driving Miss Daisy was SUPERB!!! I have seen the movie on several occasions and have always found it to be beautiful. However, the Curtain Call production exceeded our expectations! It distilled the essence of the poignant message, and the performances by the cast members were transcendent and magical! Most worthy of the standing ovation it received! Keep up the good work!

Sherrie & Steve

We were so, so happy to see you looking so absolutely beautiful last night. You have not lost your delightful sense of humor during this year long struggle to be a survivor of breast cancer. You continue to amaze so many of us.

Last night's play was terrific. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is not a feel-good play; it is a black comedy. Steve Fletcher, who directed this wonderful production, was also the star last night with his exuberant performance as Randle P. McMurphy. The entire cast did an excellent job of slowly taking the audience from laughter to sympathy to outrage as we watched the authority, Nurse Ratch, demand conformity from rebels like McMurphy or be punished. Scary and entirely therapeutic!

We were part of the full house saturday night. Congratulations on a soul stirring ensemble.

Carol,

I hope all is well. Thinking of you. Just for your information, I watched "A Few Good Men" on TV this week. I had never seen it before. Even with Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, and Demi Moore starring in the movie, the production and acting at Curtain Call surely was every bit as good, and I obviously love live theatre a lot more. You should be very proud.

Just wanted to write to tell you I thought Ben Katagiri's performance in "It's a Wonderful Life" was absolutely fantastic. I hope to see him in future plays at Curtain Call.

What a fun show! Those 2 geezers were great. I don't know who I loved more "Clark or Lewis", "Lewis or Clark". Both provided a night full of laughs with their performances in Sunshine Boys.

from Joan - about "The Sunshine Boys" performance

I (the pregnant woman :) was there Saturday with family members for my mothers birthday. We had dinner at the Century House before hand. I just wanted to say we all had a really nice time and think that you have a great thing going there. It's nice you brought some culture to Latham and Im glad it's right up the street from me. As soon as I can, I will be attending another dinner/play combo. Thank you again for the great experience. My mother was happy as well with her birthday plans.

from Melissa of Latham - about "The Sunshine Boys" performance

I thoroughly enjoyed this production of DA...a ghostly, comic Irish play filled with love, laugher, regret, guilt. The cast did a wonderful job portraying the emotional and bittersweet relationships that exist within families. The set reminded me of homes I visited in Doolin and on the Aran Island of Inishere. Thanks for bringing this play to our area. It is both funny and timeless, a play for everyone.

from Joan and Len - about the "DA" performance

What an interesting play! So many dead and alive people all at once, and double versions of some of them! It caused us to keep our wits about us to know what really was happening and when. Being dead for the whole time must have been extremely odd. I can remember ages ago when you were practicing your dying as Billy in Carousel and we all giggled, but tried to control it.. We have known Maureen's parents, the McGrath's, for about fifteen years. They are absolutely the sweetest people in the world. Max and Maureen's dad, Moe, went up to BOCES awhile ago, in suits and ties, to Maureen's class to play "interviewer" so the kids could get an idea of what a real job interview is like. The students said it was valuable practice. "Da" was a good play. Carol Max is a real success story,. We saw the company at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga when they were looking for a home theater. Your acting was great! The part I especially liked was when you were patting and playing with the frisky dog! I could really see him! I liked the emotional range, the deferential body language, and the motions with the hat, too. Congrats, as always!

from Linda and Max - about the "DA" performance

Dear Carol,

We just loved the performance on Wednesday. You were outstanding! It was a powerful piece, moving, funny, and perfectly realistic. Our guest loved it as well. Once again, a winner. Thank you for the call.

from Carol G - about the "Rabbit Hole" performance

Curtain Call Theatre:
My wife, Suzanne, and I saw this show Thursday night, and wanted to tell you how terrific it was. The theme was thought-provoking, and the acting was just wonderful. Not a misstep in the casting, nor in the presentation. We were so glad we saw it. You have, once again, picked something perfect to present to us all.

Thank you for your consistent high quality theater. We look forward to many more enlightening and enjoyable evenings.

from Lonnie & Suzanne C. - about the "Rabbit Hole" performance

Bravo!!! Amazing production of Rabbit Hole. We laughed, we cried, we were moved. The casting was perfect and the stage unique and effective. The best show yet at Curtain Call. Congratulations to all of you. Thanks for a wonderful night of quality theater!

from Joan P.

Dear Carol & Company,

As season subscribers, and loyal supporters of Curtain Call Theatre since its inception, Steve and I want to commend all of you and thank you for a riveting evening of theatre.

We feel that Rabbit Hole is the best production in Curtain Call history!

The performance was stellar! Right from the start, Becca, Howie, Izzy, Jason and Nat captured our attention, emotions and empathy. We were totally involved with this "family".

We witnessed their pain and struggle to exist, but we never felt that we were watching actors playing roles. Carol, Steve, Joanna, Lecco and Joanne were so professional and convincing that they completely enveloped me. Their lives were so meaningful that they took my breath away, gave me chills, stopped my heart and brought me to tears.

I experienced a marathon of emotions, all because of the quality of their execution. I couldn't even bring myself to applaud between scenes because it would have seemed an invasion of the privacy of their "home" and a lack of respect for their feelings and what they were going through.

We look forward to seeing more of these extremely talented individuals in future Curtain Call productions of this caliber. APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE!

With profound appreciation and heartfelt thanks,
Sherrie

Phyllis and I really enjoyed the show on Sat. Great performance by all the
actors as usual. It was a treat seeing you up on stage Carol.
